The Animal Rescue Association was formed in late 2006 with a goal of fostering animal rescues organizations across North America. Developing, teaching, and certifying quality standards in animal rescue organizations encourages more open and trusted interactions with shelters, veterinarians, and other service providers. Association support services and peer mentoring will encourage new or growing rescues to achieve recognition in the industry as being the gold standard in quality.

Expanded and enhanced rescue activities will result in more animal adoptions and fewer animal euthanizations. Our Board of Directors is firmly committed to these goals.
